Editor’s Note: A previous version incorrectly stated that 10 companies made the Inc. 5,000 list. We regret the error.

Inc. magazine has included 12 Maine companies on its Inc. 5,000 list, which ranks the country’s 5,000 fastest growing privately held companies.

The fastest growing Maine company on the list is Brickell Men’s Products, a Portland-based company selling premium grooming and skincare products to men. It ranked 133rd on the list based on three-year revenue growth of 2,774%.

A change this year is that Inc. magazine no longer reveals the underlying annual revenue data that it uses to determine the rankings, instead deciding to sell that data. So the only metric publicly available is percentage growth in revenue from 2016-2019.

For Maine, 12 companies appearing on the Inc. 5,000 is slightly above average. Last year there were 11, and 10 the year before that.

This year’s list, which ranks companies based on three-year revenue growth, includes a few companies I’ve covered before in Maine Startups Insider, including STARC Systems and Tilson Technology Management.

Here are the Maine companies that made the list:
