RockStep Solutions, which develops laboratory-management software, has promoted Julie Morrison to president.

Morrison joined the company in 2016 as a co-founder, serving as product manager for the past four years. She most recently held the title of executive vice president, according to CEO Chuck Donnelly.

“I really couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Julie in this top executive spot in our company,” Donnelly said. “Julie and I have worked together over the past four years and she has demonstrated her abilities as a domain expert, entrepreneur, leader, and a steward of our team culture and company’s mission.”

As president, she will manage all aspects of the company’s operations as RockStep pursues rapid growth.

“As RockStep transitions from startup to scaleup, the company was looking for a steady hand on the operations and product,” Board Chairman Raymond Pawlicki said in a statement. “Julie has demonstrated sustained outstanding performance with her commitment to the company and her expertise in the industry. We are happy that she accepted the position and are here to support her as RockStep grows.”

RockStep Solutions is on the verge on releasing its software platform to help manage lab workflows in the pharmaceutical industry. As product manager, Morrison has worked with world-leading drug discovery organizations, including the lab of a Nobel Laureate, to develop the platform, called Climb 2.0.

“This area of research has been neglected for decades, because it was considered too difficult to address,” Morrison said. “Though it will not be released for another week, we already have customers clamoring for it, and the sales pipeline is growing more rapidly than the company can handle. We have customers who have already purchased licenses after seeing demos of the beta product.”

She added: “I’m fortunate to work with an excellent team, a supportive CEO, and to have great board leadership to help me advance RockStep to the next level.”
