Startup Maine, the nonprofit organization that organizes a startup-focused conference in Portland each summer, has announced the dates and theme for its sixth annual conference.
The two-and-a-half-day event will be held June 19-21, 2019, at the Maine College of Art. This year’s theme is “Startups, Innovators, and Policy Makers” and will focus on how entrepreneurs can help address the challenges faced at the local, national, and global level, and how to leverage available public sector support and partnerships.
“This year’s conference will be our most ambitious yet,” Katie Shorey, president and chair of Startup Maine, said in a statement. “There is so much good news and many bright spots in our state related to the
startup economy and, through the conference, we aim to help accelerate the creation and nurturing of
startups. We will soon be announcing some world-class keynote speakers, as well as our outstanding
lineup of workshops.”
The conference will feature upwards of 25 workshops designed to provide the skills needed to accelerate an
entrepreneur’s startup journey. Organizers are accepting proposals for workshop through the event website until March 1.
Tickets to the conference are $48. This year’s presenting sponsors are Maine Technology Institute and WEX.
“Thanks to our sponsors, we have been able to keep the cost of attending low, so anyone who is an entrepreneur, creator, or startup-curious can join us,” Shorey said.
