The Maine Center for Entrepreneurs has launched a new business accelerator program specifically for biotech, life sciences and medical device companies.

The BioStartup program is a 15-week curriculum-based training program for company founders who will benefit from one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and weekly online class sessions. Topics will range from product positioning, branding and go-to market strategies to raising capital and forging strategic alliances with other life sciences companies.

To be eligible, companies are expected to have confirmed the feasibility and viability of its technology, have a prototype, have received or applied to protect their intellectual property, and are ready to start or grow their business.

Paul Fitzpatrick, an entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience in the biotech, life sciences and medical device industries, is leading the program as its manager. He currently serves as CEO of Advanced Catheter Therapies Inc. in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The program, part of the Maine Bioscience Cluster Initiative, begins March 23, 2021, and ends June 29, 2021.

Applications opened March 5 and are due Tues., March 16, 2021. For more information, visit MCE’s website.
