Introspective Systems, a Portland-based startup working on cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications, has rebranded as Dynamic Grid to better reflect the company’s increased focus on the energy sector.
The corporation’s legal name will remain Introspective Systems, but it has adopted Dynamic Grid as its trade name as it continues to develop the architecture for energy microgrid projects.
“The name was selected because we are building a Dynamic Grid that reacts to the grid conditions where all the devices in the electrical grid are dynamic in how they use, store and defer energy,” Kay Aikin, the company’s CEO, told Maine Startups Insider. “I like to say just like natural ecosystems are dynamic in their diversity and adaptation we are building an engineered ecosystem for the electrical grid.”
The company’s first commercial project is building the architecture for the microgrid project being developed on Isle au Haut.
